STOP STROKES WITH POTASSIUM
The FDA has made it official. Potassium can help stop strokes from happening and lower high blood pressure. Strokes affect 500,000 people every year and high blood pressure affects 50 million. Some foods that are rich in potassium are baked potatoes, plain low-fat yogurt, orange juice from concentrate, bananas, and tomato juice. If you can't get enough potassium from foods make sure it's in your daily vitamin supplements.

REDUCE HEART DISEASE WITH LAUGHTER
Norman Cousins cured his illness with laughter. Now researchers from the University of Maryland Medical Center have found that people with heart disease were 40% less likely to laugh at the screw-ups that happen every day in all our lives.

Using the Kinesiology muscle checking (which you might have learned from me), I've found that laughing is actually strengthening to the body. So when something goes wrong, laugh about it because it can't hurt and it may help, and besides you'll have more fun in your life.

HOW TO FEEL EVEN HAPPIER
Researchers reviewed 32 studies on activity and mood in people 65 and older. They found the combination of low-intensity aerobic exercises like walking and cycling plus strength training 3 days a week had people feeling much happier. Doing both can make you feel 10 to 15 years younger.

When you do start lifting weights, don't judge your progress by the scales since muscle tissue is heavier than fat tissue, so it might look like you are gaining weight. The best method to measure your progress is by the fit of your clothes. The fitter you get the larger your clothes will fit.

Also practice keeping you tongue up to the roof of your mouth a quarter of an inch behind your front teeth while you're lifting weights. You'll find you can lift more weight for more repetitions. A gentleman who attended one of my seminars where I taught that technique went back home and was able to bench press more than 500 pounds. (Not that 500 pounds should be your goal – it's not mine).

BURN MORE CALORIES THE GREEN TEA WAY
A study in Switzerland found 60% of the men who took a pill that had the equivalent of a cup of green tea three times per day burned 80 more calories during the next 24 hours than men who took a caffeine pill or a placebo pill.

PEOPLE WITH ASTHMA CAN EXERCISE
If you have asthma you can exercise without triggering an attack if you do the following:

  1. Do warm-up and cool down times
  2. Drink plenty of water before, during and after exercising
  3. Keep salt under 2,000 mg per day
  4. Increase Vitamin C to 2,000 mg per day
  5. Do swimming and water aerobics
  6. Avoid weather extremes
  7. Keep your inhaler handy just in case
  8. Have fun

GROW NEW HAIR WITHOUT DRUGS
So you're losing your hair or your loved one is. Now you can do something about it without having to take a drug. A study done at Emory University found an all-natural system called Curetage was very effective in growing new hair. It even has helped people who have lost hair due to chemotherapy and radiation. FATIGUE, DEPRESSION OR MEMORY LOSS ANYONE?
If you have any of the symptoms of fatigue, depression or memory loss, you may have a Vitamin B12 deficiency. Of 26 to 49 year olds, 17% were completely deficient in B12 while another 40% had low to normal levels. So before you start taking medications, experiment with some Vitamin B12.

WHAT DO HORSES HAVE THAT WE DON'T
They have vets that give them MSM to relieve soreness. MSM is short for methylsulfonylmethane – got that? Several studies have found humans can also have pain relief by taking MSM capsules or powder. One study found an 80% reduction of osteoarthritis pain in patients taking 2,250 mg per day of MSM (You can take as much as 8,000 mg with no side effects. It also seems to relieve chronic headaches and back pain).

You'll need to give the MSM an extended period of time to begin working and if you combine it with glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate, you'll really up its effectiveness.
